A Voice at the Table offers readers a profound look into the life of Brendan T. Kelly. It is a story of overcoming adversity, finding one's voice, and understanding the deeper reasons behind our actions. Kelly’s honest and reflective writing provides valuable lessons on resilience, self-awareness, and the importance of self-kindness. This book is not only a compelling personal narrative but also a guide for anyone seeking to understand themselves better and live a more fulfilling life. The generosity and concern for the welfare of others that Kelly demonstrates through his unflinching honesty is truly admirable.

About
Brendan Kelly, MBA, LSSBB, is the Senior Administrator, After Action Review, with the University of North Texas Health Science Center in Fort Worth, Texas. Where he works to help people discover lessons learned, best practices and improve processes.

Brendan is retired from the U.S. Army in which he served for nearly 22 years. It is during this time he learned about the process and how to implement a beneficial AAR program. During his military service he served three tours in Iraq and has been awarded multiple commendations and service awards. He honorably retired in April of 2010.

Upon retirement he taught Leadership Education in high school, helping the youth and leaders of tomorrow learn valuable life skills. During his time as an educator he was selected as teach of year two times. A recognition Brendan values greatly, due to the nomination coming from the students.
In 2016 he switched career fields and began working in human resources and talent management leadership roles. Helping organizations streamline processes and improve employee relations and recognition programs. He was hired as the first After-Action Review Administrator for UNT Health Science Center in July of 2022, building and developing the office and program from scratch.
Brendan’s educational accomplishments include receiving his bachelor of science and MBA from Columbia Southern University. He is a Lean Six Sigma Black Belt and has completed dozens of training on coaching, leadership development and DEI work.

Fort Worth, Texas is now his home where lives with his wife of over thirty years and their dog Claire. Together they have three daughters, all are grown and on their own now. When Brendan isn’t helping teams and organizations with the AAR process he is actively engaged in the arts. Creating leather goods and other genres of art. He says it is his Zen time, an opportunity to simply be and let the creative process flow.

Brendan has published articles on the benefits of having an AAR process and enjoys speaking to groups on the subject.
